Fire Crews focused on Protecting the June Lake Community Sierra Rec Magazine – Fire Update – August 1, 2017 – Fire crews are responding to the Grant Fire, located west of Highway 158 between Silver and Grant Lakes on the June Lake Loop. It is approximately 100 acres. It appears to be a lightning-caused fire that started yesterday evening. The fire is burning in in the sage in the lower elevations and pinyon/juniper and Jeffrey pine in the higher elevations. The fire burned actively throughout the night. Planned Silver Lake Campground Repaving will affect Summer Camping at Sierra Family Favorite

Silver Lake Campground Repaving Planned June Lake Ca-  The Inyo National Forest is planning to repave the Silver Lake Campground on the June Lake Loop in the summer of 2016. The campground will be closed on June 1st through July 7th while the resurfacing is completed.  Reservations are unavailable for this period on www.recreation.gov.
