Spanish Creek Campground upgrades
-group campsites, family campsites and parking-
QUINCY, Calif – June 15, 2017 – Spanish Creek Campground features new upgrades including three group and four family campsites plus additional parking. Five miles west of Quincy, CA along the scenic Feather River Byway (CA Hwy 70), the popular Plumas National Forest campground has grown in popularity since it re-opened in 2014 following the Spanish Creek bridge reconstruction.
Accommodating up to 25 people, each group camp includes drinking water, bear proof storage lockers, lantern posts and picnic tables with paved parking. New group sites can be reserved with the on-site camp host (Royal Elk Park Management (REPM)) or with the REPM website info@royalelkparkmanagement.com . Reservations via Recreation.gov will be available soon.
Beginning July 1, 2017, a $5 per vehicle facility fee will be charged to those not camping in the campground. Royal Elk Park Management operates the recreation site under a special use permit with the Plumas National Forest and as a forest concessionaire they manage the upkeep within the campground. This new facility fee helps the concessionaire address the additional need for trash removal, restroom operations, water, and security inside the campground. An annual pass for $35 is also available through the camp host and can be used at other facilities operated by Royal Elk Park Management (REPM) such as Sandy Point at Bucks Lake and Lost Cove at Antelope Lake.
More information about other recreation opportunities in the area may be obtained from the Mt Hough Ranger District at (530) 283-0555.
