On a mission to grow and expand their message, Courage to Run Triathlon invites public to form teams and compete in 2nd annual charity event.
Lake Almanor, CA –  The Sierra has many great events to choose from in the summer.  From running, biking and community celebrations an individual could literally find an event every weekend from May – October.  So when we first heard about the 2nd annual Courage Triathlon, I figured it was a good community calendar event and went looking for basic facts to share. However, what I found was a mission and team that was so full of enthusiasm for a great cause that it really needed to be shared at a broader level.
Courage to Run dares to tackle one of those society issues that is hard to grapple with in our world today. It strives to open the eyes to millions as we live our lives in the shadow of truth, hidden behind a screen of self-fulfilling reality. Â If you let it, the story that Courage to Run is sharing is a story of hope in young ladies’ lives that are trapped in a place they never intended, a place that is ruled by fear, loneliness, desperation in survival.
This event we can confidently say is not just another Sierra community event. It is an event that will touch lives all around you in your own neighborhood and possibly in your own life as the scary world of sex trafficking of young girls is often closer than we could ever imagine.
This will be a great event to support and share in the hope if you decide to take the Challenge and ” Run … so they don’t have to”.

Why This Event:
RUN… SO THEY DON’T HAVE TO.
Come… Run for Courage™. Courage Run is a multi-city 5K/10K annual race series and a benefit for Courage House- homes for children rescued out of sex trafficking. Hundreds of thousands of girls across the U.S. and around the world need a safe place to call home and many of them are runaways because of their life of abuse and exploitation.
That is why we RUN…so they don’t have to.  The dream is now becoming a reality- the vision and plan from the beginning has been to have runs in multiple cities and expand them around the world.  Our runs started in 2009 in Elk Grove and Folsom and now we have added several more cities!  We believe that Courage Runs will help to bring many more girls home- contact us if you want to bring a run to your city! This event is a family friendly event and includes a 1/4 mile kids fun run. Our Courage Run Race Director is experienced and certified so that you experience the best course possible.  Our desire is that you experience a fun, high-quality race as you partner with us in the fight against trafficking by helping us bring more children home to Courage House.
Courage House is not just a structure or building, a program or approach; it is a place where hope is given, healing is offered, and lives are restored. We believe it is never too late for an individual—especially a child—to be rescued and lovingly restored to a life filled with hope, purpose, and love. Since 2011, Courage Houses have been open in Northern California and Tanzania,
