Season Schedule
Donner Party Paddle: 6/1/19 (Register Here) –
The Donner Party Paddle Race (formerly named the Donner Lake Memorial Race) takes place on the pristine waters of Donner Lake, Truckee CA. Enjoy a paddle on this mystical Alpine Lake in honor of the Donner Party immigrants.
Bringing back an old favorite, the Donner Party Paddle on Donner Lake is June 1, 2019! . All participants are required to wear/carry pdf on their craft. Racers will start on the water at the same time. As this is an alpine mountain lake, plan to check weather conditions for race day temps and plan accordingly. We look forward to kicking off the Tahoe paddle season with you!
Waterman Time Trials: 6/29/19 (Register Here)
This is not a race but a test. A test to see where you stand in an all out effort for 3 miles and 1 mile. Time trials are a great way to measure your fitness. With a set course and consistent weather conditions you can test yourself every couple weeks to see how your training is progressing over the course of the summer or a year.
This time trial will give you a base line of fitness that you can test again and again anytime you are at Watermans or any other body of water that has similar water and weather conditions to the day of the TT.
Sunnyside Downsider: July 13, 2019 (Register Here)
The Sunnyside Downwinder is a classic downwind run that the Team Tahoe Waterman crew does whenever the wind allows. Lake Tahoe is a sleeper downwind destination. The lake has big fetch and being at 6000 feet gets big storms with high winds. Combine high winds and good fetch and you get great bumps for gliding across pristine waters.
Lake Tahoe has finicky wind, usually the early morning sees an East wind puff before settling down until the afternoon. The wind usually starts from the South and slowly moves from the West and in between that move it goes SW and gives us great bumps to ride! There are a few little tricks that you will want to listen in on during the race briefing and the course will be set morning of but if the wind is up plan on some serious fun!
Westshore Rally: August 24, 2019 (Register Here)
The West Shore Rally will offer 2 distances plus a Gromm 1 mile event. Paddle 3 miles in a course set just off the beach, or paddle 12 miles around Emerald Bay and the iconic Fannette Island. Exact distance and start/finish line to be determined. Check back soon!
Tahoe Cup Lake Crossing: September 14, 2019 (Register Here)
Put your summer training to the test. Our favorite race of the year – the Tahoe Cup – a 22 mile paddle race that starts at South Lake Tahoe and ends on the North Shore. This race is for experienced paddlers and has a 7 hour cut off.
