South Lake Tahoe, CA (June 6, 2022) – The City of South Lake Tahoe has partnered with Clean Up The Lake 501(c)3 to provide
support to their organization’s efforts as a Gold Partner, donating $15,000 to the non-profit.
This partnership has played a major role in the success of Clean Up The Lake’s efforts in maintaining their work towards successful clean-up programs in Lake Tahoe. The organization is not only thankful but applauds this local government agency for providing
support to the community, environment, and litter prevention in Lake Tahoe.
Clean Up The Lake is extremely thankful for the partnership with the City of South Lake Tahoe. They strongly believe that this type of
partnership will help recognize their future efforts to make a difference in the community.
Clean Up The Lake maintains goals to continue survey dives and clean-ups, remove GPS-identified heavy lift items, explore litter issues at different depths, and most importantly work to find preventative programs to keep litter from getting into the lake for generations to come.
The Clean Up The Lake Scuba dive team that embarked on an extraordinary effort to recover submerged litter around all 72-miles of Lake Tahoe’s shoreline – that launched on May 14, 2021 – recently completed the project. In total, the dive team collected 24,797 pieces of litter, bringing the total weight removed to 25,281 pounds.
