Plumas County, California – August 8, 2021 – The Dixie fire, now at over 320,000 acres and only 35% contained continues to ravage the Plumas and Lassen national forest regions. causing multiple evacuations and closures in every direction it would seem. But Last night devastation was not avoided by the residents of Greenville Ca.. reports on Social Media show video of building gutted by fire and some local reports suggesting everything is gone accept a dollar general store.
Greenville has a population around 1,100 and is located South of Lake Almanor along Highway 89.
“We lost Greenville tonight,” U.S. Rep. Doug LaMalfa, who represents the area, said in an emotional Facebook video. “There’s just no words.”
I have driven through this small community many times exploring around Lake Almanor and Lassen Volcanic National Park. There was an awesome Barn Quilt Tour in the area.
Prayers go out to all the families in the area that may have lost an entire lifestyle and history of this small town.
