Recently burned areas from the Tamarack Fire along US395 and CA89 pay close attention
Minden, Nevada- A Flash Flood Watch in effect from 1p-9p PDT July 26, 2021. Monsoonal moisture spreading north into the Sierra Front and western NV will produce slow moving thunderstorms across the region today.
Recently burned areas from the Tamarack Fire along US395 and CA89 should pay close attention and have a means to get alerts. The Douglas County Storm Water division is mobilizing and staging equipment in the area. Residents should prepare for the possibility of road closures, and moving fire debris due to flooding.
Douglas County currently has two self-fill sandbag stations at the following locations:(Please Look for East Fork Fire Sand Depository Box, signage will be visible)•
Turn right onto Leviathan Mine Rd, (On the right-hand side of the road near the water tower, (Inside Fenced Area)•
Holbrook Highlands, off of Highland Way- (A quarter mile down the road, turn right onto Alba Vista at the end of the cul-de-sac.)
