Severe Avalanche Danger Warning

THE SIERRA NEVADA MOUNTAINS OF CALIFORNIA AND NEVADA, FROM YUBA PASS TO EBBETTS PASS, INCLUDING THE LAKE
TAHOE BASIN.
NOON SATURDAY THROUGH AT LEAST 7 AM SUNDAY MORNING
NATURAL AND HUMAN-TRIGGERED AVALANCHES WILL BECOME LIKELY AS THE SNOW LEVELS RISE DUE TO A COMBINATION OF
RAIN ON SNOW, WET SLABS, DEEP SLABS, AND WIND SLABS. LARGE DESTRUCTIVE AVALANCHES THAT RUN LONG DISTANCES ARE LIKELY AS
MORE RAIN AND SNOW IMPACT THE REGION. VERY DANGEROUS AVALANCHE CONDITIONS EXIST. TRAVEL IN OR NEAR AVALANCHE TERRAIN IS NOT
RECOMMENDED. CONSIDERABLE AVALANCHE DANGER THIS MORNING WILL INCREASE TO HIGH AVALANCHE DANGER AT ALL ELEVATIONS THIS
AFTERNOON AS RAIN, WIND, AND SNOW IMPACT THE REGION.

AVALANCHES MAY RUN LONG DISTANCES, INTO FLAT AREAS, AND CAN RUN INTO MATURE FORESTS.
TRAVEL IN AVALANCHE TERRAIN IS NOT RECOMMENDED.
