South Lake Tahoe – Ok I know as far as recreation in the Sierra, the opening of the Hard Rock Hotel and casino in South Lake Tahoe today provides little in the means on Mountain Biking, Skiing, or Hiking near lake tahoe or any other area of the Sierra Mountains.
However this new grand opening does provide a new element to the options for staying and playing in South Lake Tahoe, I get the feeling that many people are happy to see the hard Rock Brand expand in the South Lake Tahoe basin. The 60 million dollar renovation of the old Horizon REsort Casino is complete and will open its doors for the first time today January 28, 2015.
In true Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Lake Tahoe style, South Shore’s newest resort casino celebrates its public grand opening with a not-so-traditional ice guitar smashing with Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Warner Gaming and state officials on Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2015 at 7:45 p.m. on the patio of the Fire Break Kitchen & Bar restaurant. The guitar smashing kicks off a grand opening weekend through Sunday, Feb. 1, 2015 of eclectic music in Vinyl, the resort casino’s venue for live entertainment, promotional giveaways and large screen viewings of the Big Game XLIX. Room reservations are being accepted starting Thursday, Jan. 29, 2015.
“We have spent the summer and fall rehearsing for our big day, and we could not be more excited to share our new resort casino with everyone,” said Don Marrandino, chief operations officer for the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Lake Tahoe. “The grand opening is all about celebrating, thanking the South Lake Tahoe community, our many friends and soon-to-be guests for their support. We’d like to see a great turnout on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at 7:45 p.m. when we gather local dignitaries to smash an ice guitar, rather than the traditional ribbon cutting, and officially open the property to the public.”
