Mammoth Resorts Excels at Terrain Parks and Summer Camps So with Five New Trails to Unveil This Summer, Move Over Skiers
Mammoth Ca- Bear Mountain and Mammoth Mountain, both under the Mammoth Resorts umbrella, finished one and two in TransWorld SNOWboarding’s 2015 Resort Poll Park Rankings. That alone might be all you need to know about what is coming this summer in Mammoth for Mountain Bikers and Family outdoor REC opportunities on Mammoth Mountain. But add in the fact that on parts of the Mountain they hope to Ski until the 4th of July this season and the fact that they are looking to unveil 5 new rides for mountain bikers this summer, and were are surprised if your bags are not already packed.
This weekend, June 10th Mammoth Bike Park will open 10 more runs in their extensive maze of rides on the Mountain. This added to the three they opened Memorial Day weekend and then Next Week The Discovery Chair and Lower Gondola will run June 17 with access to beginner and intermediate trails Adventure, Discovery, Explorer and the Skills Park, as well as expert and pro trails Twilight Zone and Velocity will be accessed from the Lower Gondola. Bike Park
With over 3,500 acres and 80 miles of single track, Mammoth has mountain biking options for all skill levels and types of riders. The Discovery Zone is perfect for those looking to gain some confidence on a bike. Then there’s the expert Kamikaze track that barrels from the summit down to Main Lodge. Get some air on Pipeline, filled with natural and man-made features from rollers to dirt jumps, ramps, gaps, and more. Not sure where to start? How could you with names like Off the Top, Skid marks, Techno Rock, Bullet, Gravy Train and the Monkey Wrench as your options! Keep an eye out for five new trails, the start of fat bike rentals, and weekly Friday downhill races and Tuesday cross-country races
Not sure your skills are up to the challenge, Mammoth also has lessons available, rentals at the mountain, and season passes available so you can get the experience you need to challenge the mountain.
Besides the Rides that can be challenged at Mammoth Mountain, they traditionally have one of the best summer schedules for individuals and families looking for outdoor adventure and recreation during the summer season. Camps
Camp High Sierra:
Located in the heart of Mammoth Lakes, this unique campground offers tent camping sites, trailer/RV sites with hook ups, rustic bunk style cabins, and free hot showers for all registered guests.
Summer Camps:
Give your kids a Sierra summer adventure. Mammoth campers customize their experience daily based on their evolving interests. Each morning they can choose between hiking and climbing, mountain biking, or other set electives (horseback riding, stand up paddle boarding, fishing, swimming, sightseeing, etc.). Then each afternoon they are brought back together at Camp High Sierra for camp-wide games, adventures, team building and traditional summer camp fun.
Kids Adventure Center:
Located at Main Lodge, take your kids to check out the Adventure Center. A 1 Day Pass is $40 (12 & Under Only).

Summer Events
Monster Energy Mammoth Motorcross
June 18-28
Six qualifying events around California give racers a chance to secure a spot for the final stage at the Monster Energy Mammoth Motocross at the infamous ” track” in Mammoth Lakes. A week-long event , there are plenty of fun happenings on and off the mountain.
Kamikaze Bike Games
September 15-18
The Kamikaze Bike Games returns to Mammoth September 15th-18th, 2016 for its 4th year. The downhill is part of the Pro GRT Tour and is a UCI sanctioned event. The Enduro will cap out at 600 riders and is a stop on the North American Enduro Tour and is the Series Finale of the California Enduro Series.
USA Cycling National Championships
July 12-17
The best cyclists in the country will come to Mammoth to compete in the USA Cycling National Championships. National titles will be won for Downhill, Dual Slalom, Cross-Country, Short Track Cross-Country, and Enduro.
Ezakimak
Saturday, July 23, 2016 Time: 2pm-9:30pm, race starts at 7pm.
By mountain bike or your own two feet, race 3 miles from Main Lodge to the summit – over 2,000 feet in elevation gain. Have your friends and family meet you at the finish line and then enjoy the night at the Full Moon Summit Party.
Kids Adventure Games
August 26-27
The Kids Adventure Games offers children ages 6 through 14 an opportunity to experience the thrill of adventure racing. Kids learn teamwork skills, have fun and build confidence in a one-of-a-kind outdoor experience created just for them. During the race, teams of two will work together to navigate a variety of sports and problem-solving challenges before crossing the finish line.
Trek Dirt Series
August 27-28
Coming to Mammoth, August 27-28, the Trek Dirt Series is a two day, all-women mountain bike camp. Women can focus on cross-country, downhill park riding, or both.
If visiting Mammoth this summer there are also great sites to see in the region including Devils Postpile National Monument, June Lake Loop, Rainbow Falls, Minaret Lake, Hot Creek and Obsidian Dome. Enjoy your summer exploring in Mammoth… and go big or go home!
