Lassen Volcanic National Park – A New Event will start this weekend in Lassen Volcanic National Park. Moonlight Paddling Tours on Manzanita Lake. Lassen is known for its rugged volcanic landscapes and variety of lake experiences visitors can enjoy while visiting the park. These new Tours provide another great way to see the park and enjoy the Dark Sky, a main feature for families camping and staying in the park.

New! Moonlight Tours
Guided moonlight paddling tours will be offered on Manzanita Lake June 19-21, July 18-20, August 17-19, and September 15-17. There will also be a tour on August 21 for the Perseid meteor shower. The park concessioner, California Guest Services, offers the tour.
Each tour will depart according to the best viewing times and will last under two hours, returning by midnight. Two guides will describe basic paddling techniques and safety, the tour route, and the sights. The cost is $65 per person, including a rental boat
Lassen’s most popular boating lakes include Manzanita Lake, Butte Lake, Juniper Lake, and Summit Lake. Each of these lakes has one or more areas for boating access. Motorcraft rentals are available at Manzanita Lake (see below). Only non-power watercraft may be used on park lakes; engines of any type are not permitted. Boating is prohibited on Reflection, Emerald, Helen, and Boiling Springs Lake.
Watercraft Rental
Kayak, canoe, stand-up paddle board, and cataraft rentals are available in the Manzanita Lake Camper Store. Watercraft rentals are offered daily from 9 am to 30 minutes before sunset on a first-come, first-served basis in the summer only. View pricing at lassenrecreation.com.
