Dante’s View Death Valley

Get your Star Wars Geek on with Epic Vista Views

Death Valley National Park – Places to See – Star Wars Fans love the View at Dante’s View in Death Valley National Park. Located on the SouthEast end of the Bad Water Basin, visitors can drive up to the top for one of the most iconic views in death Valley. Considered one of the best scenic vistas in the park, Dantes View provides a birds-eye view of Death Valley and What Star Wars fans know as MosEisley Space Port thanks to help of a little CGI.

Towering 5,575 ft (1,699 m) above Badwater Basin, on the ridge of the Black Mountains, Dantes View is a favorite spot for photographers. Dante’s View is about 19 miles south of Furnace Creek in Death Valley National Park

Is Dante’s View worth it?

This overlook is well worth the drive and short hike for the best overview of the valley and the Badwater Basin area. Just a short walk from the parking lot is an unmarked trailhead that you can take for a hike and we highly recommend

Hiking Dante’s View trail

Dante’s View Trail is a 1 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail, that offers the chance to see wildlife and is good for all skill levels. Sections of the trail will give you the thrill of walking on the edge of a mountain peak but the trail itself is well maintained.

Publisher of Sierra Rec Magazine. An avid hiker and explorer of mountain lifestyle and adventure. I love to discover new trails, hike along rivers and hang a hammock along the shores of a mountain lake. I often great people on the trail and have found some of my favorite places from the advice of people I meet in the Wilderness. I love the sierra and just like sharing what I know.
