Mammoth Mountain is California’s highest lift-served four-season resort and playground with a summit at 11,053 ft. With 300 days of sunshine annually, the Eastern Sierra resort offers infinite recreation and scenic beauty all year long. Winter in Mammoth typically runs from early November into May. Nestled on the border of Yosemite National Park, Mammoth Mountain offers endless outdoor play. Mammoth Mountain is unquestionably one of the finest Alpine Skiing Mountain in the world. An average of over 400 inches (33 feet) of snow falls onto the 11,053 foot summit, making the entire 3,500 plus acres of skiable terrain enjoyable for all. The mountain is great for all levels, with options ranging from expansive bowls, tree skiing, wide groomers, steep chutes, halfpipes, and the world-class Unbound Terrain Parks.
Mammoth mountain features 25 lifts leading to 170 runs and over 3500 skiable acres on the mountain. Skiers of all levels will find a beautiful and enjoyable day on the mountain each time they visit.
Alpine Ski Area
Mammoth Mountain is made up of several distinct base areas, including Main Lodge, Canyon Lodge, The Village, Eagle Lodge, and The Mill. The resort truly is of mammoth proportions with over 3,500 skiable acres to explore, 3,100 feet of vertical drop, and multiple terrain options. An extensive lift system transports skiers to a great mix of terrain for all skill levels.
The top of the mountain boasts steep chutes and mogul runs combined with expansive bowls and glades. If you enjoy powder pillows, be sure to check out the Hemlocks: in-bounds, hike-accessed steeps that offer natural terrain off the beaten path. For some of the best snow on the mountain, hop on Chair 23 and ski Drop out and Wipe Out Chutes.
Mammoth Mountain is home to the award-winning Unbound Terrain parks, where top pros in extreme snowboarding and skiing come to train. The terrain parks offer facilities aimed at creating a seamless transition and progression from beginner to expert freestyle terrain and span Main Park, Forest Trail, South Park, Transition Park, and Jibs Galore to make for easy access.

After you’re comfortable in our Playgrounds, Forest Trail is the
next step. Progressively built, medium-sized jumps, jibs and
an 11-foot halfpipe create the fun flow of this trail, making it a
favorite among intermediate groms, moms and dads who rip.

Taking inspiration from skate parks and surf spots around the
world this park features bowls, banks, spines, volcanoes, and
more, all made out of snow. Time to let your creativity run wild.

This park features fast, flowy jumps and berms winding its
way underneath Chair 20. Mix one part Transition Park and
one part boardercross run and you get the Snake Run.

Get a mellow intro to terrain park features with miniboxes and jumps that get bigger and longer as you
progress. Freestyle fun is available for beginners of all
ages in a different playground at each base lodge.

How to Get to Mammoth
Mammoth Mountain Ski Resort lies on the eastern edge of California’s Sierra Nevada Mountain Range. It’s 330 miles west of San Francisco and 310 miles north of Los Angeles, making for a five-to seven-hour drive. There is a Local Airport in mammoth. Located just 15 minutes from Mammoth Lakes, Mammoth Yosemite Airport (MMH) has partnered with Advanced Air to provide scheduled semi-private charter flights to and from Southern California.
Mammoth Mountain is located in Mammoth Lakes, CA 93546 along the 395 corridor in the Eastern Sierra of California. Drive time is approximately 5 hours north of Los Angeles and 3 hours south of Reno, Nevada.
During summer months (May – October) Tioga Pass through Yosemite National Park is open. Drive time from the Bay Area through Yosemite is approximately 6 hours.

Parking
Daily and long term (overnight) vehicle parking is available at the Mammoth Yosemite Airport. Overnight parking costs $8.00 a night, and can be paid at the self-service kiosk in the parking lot just outside the Hot Creek Aviation terminal. The daily and long term parking areas are clearly marked with signs.
Train or Bus transportation from Los Angeles
To get to Mammoth Lakes by train and bus, first take the Metrolink Antelope Valley train from Union Station in downtown Los Angeles’ Union Station to Lancaster, California. Then catch Eastern Sierra Transit Authority (ESTA) Lancaster to Mammoth Lakes route, which runs once a day Monday-Friday.
Flights from San Francisco are little more complicated as United airlines has switched delivery to the Bishop airport.
Flights into Bishop
New this season, United Airlines will be moving all commercial flights to Eastern Sierra Regional Airport/Bishop (BIH) in Bishop, CA. The move to Bishop, 45 miles south of Mammoth Lakes, will allow United Airlines to fly larger aircrafts, improve the reliability of service and expand to offer daily flights from connecting airports throughout the United States.

Kick your winter up a notch and get in great shape this season. Explore the Mammoth Lakes Basin on cross-country skis or snowshoes for some scenic family adventures or butt-kicking fun across 19+ miles (30+ kilometers) of secluded, groomed world-class trails. Rentals, lessons, guided tours and season passes are available from the Tamarack Cross-Country Ski Center, located at Tamarack Lodge.

WOOLLY’S TUBE PARK & SNOW PLAY
Skip the uphill hike and catch a lift to the top, then bomb down the groomed lanes as fast as you dare in a high-speed snow tube. Woolly’s Tube Park is all-time fun for all ages with a large snow play area and a heated deck with snack bar offering hot cocoa and adult beverages. SNOWMOBILE ADVENTURES
Mellow cruisers and hard chargers alike will find big fun exploring tree-lined trails and massive meadows on a guided excursions around Mammoth.
Mammoth is owned by the Alterra Mountain Company and operates its season passes with Ikon Pass system. Meaning if you have an Ikon pass at any of these California resorts Mammoth Mountain, June Mountain, Palisades Tahoe, Big Bear Mountain Resort (Bear Mountain, Snow Summit) you are all part of the family.
