With Temperatures dropping the California Bomb Cyclone Slams the sierra with Early Season Snow Dump.
Lake Tahoe, October 25, 2021 – It was thought to only be the largest rain event in the history of California. however the Bomb Cyclone event which has indeed brought historic rain is also slamming the Sierra Nevada with Early Season Snow dumps.
Up to 3.5 feet of snow has fallen in the Lake Tahoe region with Mt. Rose, Palisades, Alpine Meadows and Northstar all reporting great snow pack of over 3 feet. Kirkwood Ski resort reporting over 21″ and counting early today.
Winter Advisories are in effect until early Tuesday so expected snow accumulation will continue today into Tuesday and sets the local ski region in great shape heading into season openings.
California and the Western Edge of Nevada has seen record breaking rains and winds from this Bomb Cyclone Storm. In Nevada Last night heavy winds drove near blackout conditions in Hawthorn Nevada for dust. Sacramento is seeing flooding and several regions of Northern California are reporting landslides and road closures to floods.
