Sierra REC Magazine, September 23, 2022 – The Carson Valley is known around the world for its flight friendly air conditions for glider pilots. Home to adventure lifestyle flying community, the Carson Valley hosts its annual Aviation Round Up this weekend in the Sierra, featuring the Navy’s Blue Angel Flying group, the USASOC Black Dagger Jump team, and the Red Bull Acrobatic helicopter.
The 2022 Aviation Roundup featuring the U.S. Navy Blue Angels is set for Oct. 1-2 at the Minden-Tahoe Airport in Carson Valley, Nevada.Catch the awe-inspiring thrills of some of the world’s top aviation performers as they buzz, soar and perform aerobatic feats above the tarmac.
The event features some of the world’s best-known airshow performers and military jet demonstration teams as well as local and regional industry vendors exhibiting the newest innovations and technologies available to the aviation industry. World-class aviation performers including Bill Stein, The Chuters, Kirby Chambliss and the U.S. Navy Blue Angels take to the skies above Carson Valley, Nevada, performing wild stunts, elegant formations and twists and turns for the crowds below.
Tickets are available online in advance at AviationRoundup.com and are $30 for adults or $20 for children 12-17. A family pack, which includes two adults and up to four children, is $125 and children under 12 are free. Event organizers encourage attendees to avoid the ticket lines and purchase online in advance.

Tips and directions for getting to the airshow:
Northbound (coming from Minden):
Take HWY 395 to Airport Road.
Turn right onto Airport Road from HWY 395.
Turn right onto Meridian Blvd from Airport Road.
Volunteers will be at the parking area to guide you to parking.
Southbound (coming from Carson City, Stephanie Lane, Indian Hills):
Take HWY 395 to the light at Johnson Lane.
Turn left onto Johnson Lane from HWY 395. ** The left turn at Airport Road will be closed, you must turn at Johnson Lane **
Turn right onto Heybourne Road from Johnson Lane.
Turn right onto Airport Road from Heybourne Road.
Turn left onto Park Place. ** The left turn at Meridian Blvd will be closed, you must turn at Park Pl **
Turn left onto Meridian Blvd.
Volunteers will be at the parking area to guide you to parking.
Getting from the parking lot to the airshow:
DO NOT bring coolers / pets onto the shuttle buses.
There will be nine (9) shuttle buses transporting people from parking to the airshow, and back again.
Each shuttle is assigned a stop, and each stop is assigned a number of shuttles. If you see a shuttle and it passes your stop, don’t worry, there is another shuttle coming.
The shuttles will also have assigned stops at the airshow. Again, if a shuttle does not stop to pick you up, another shuttle is coming.
