The Storms Clear in Time for New Years in Reno Tahoe

Reno/ Tahoe – Dec. 30, 2021 – A record setting December snowfall fell on Lake Tahoe region and the entire Sierra Nevada Range. Ans as the storm clears and roadways just now begin to open, Lake Tahoe and Reno prepare for what looks to be a clear and very cold New Years in the Mountains.

Although traffic concerns still exist in the Mountains and around the sierra, crowds will still be out to enjoy the festivities at Stateline and downtown Reno Friday night.

Heavenly Holidays New Year’s Eve Celebration, Thursday & Friday, December 30 & 31, 2021

Heavenly Holidays reach their zenith on New Year’s Eve when fire, lights, and music fill the air. 2:00 pm – 9:30 pm, Live music on the Main Stage with Tyler Rich on Thursday, December 30th, and The Gin Blossoms on Friday, December 31st! Free shows. Plan to arrive early.

And at 9:00 p.m. on New Year’s Eve, in time for the midnight Ball Drop in New York City’s Time Square, Heavenly’s Gondola Ball Drop will cross above the crowd, and a fabulous fireworks show will light up the night. The party continues into the night at one of the many casino nightclubs.

Reno New Year’s Eve Parties

Bring the glitz and glam into 2022 at Burlexque at LEX Nightclub, inside Grand Sierra Resort. If heading downtown is more your style, check out the celebration at Cargo Concert Hall with world-renowned DJ Borgore keeping the music going well past midnight. Record Street Brewing will be hosting a swagged out Reno 54 themed New Year’s Eve party with dancers, aerial performers and live music. THE ROW in downtown Reno is hosting several New Year’s Eve celebrations, with VIP parties at NoVi, Brew Brothers, El Jefe’s Cantina and Rum Bullions, as well as no-cover celebrations at Roxy’s, Silver Baron, Aura and Cabaret. Matador Lounge will keep you dancing all night with local bands El Raj and Oh Lonesome Ana, along with a vinyl DJ. As the clock strikes midnight in downtown Reno, revelers be treated to a spectacular fireworks show over Virginia Street and the Reno Arch.

New Year’s Eve Family Celebration Palisades

Join us for our New Year’s Eve Family Celebration! We will kick off the evening with an LED Torchlight Parade along with fireworks and a free concert from The Nomads. The parade will start at 5pm on Exhibition. The Nomads will play from 5-7pm on the KT Deck ending with fireworks at 7pm!

Join us for an LED Torchlight Parade this New Year’s Eve! The parade will start at 5pm on Exhibition and funnel down into more festivities.

Event Details

  • Date: December 31st, 2021
  • Time: Begins at 5pm. All skiers and riders must sign up for a time slot in advance. Time slots are 5pm, 5:15pm, 5:30pm, 5:45pm, 6pm, 6:15pm, and 6:30pm. You will only be allowed to ride the Exhibition chairlift during your time slot.
  • Location: Exhibition Chairlift and KT Deck
  • Tickets: Signups are FREE, just follow the link below to select your time. Please go to the Palisades Tahoe Ticket Office to pick up your RFID wristband. Participants must show their wristband in order to load Exhibition.
  • LED Torches will be passed out at the Exhibition chairlift only to guests with wristbands during their time slot.

New Year’s Eve Light Parade and Fireworks Show Truckee

Come join the Tahoe Donner community for a fun, family-friendly celebration to ring in the New Year at Tahoe Donner Downhill Ski Resort. After a great day on the mountain, enjoy the popular Light Parade followed by the annual Fireworks Show. Warm up next to the outdoor fire pits and enjoy hot toddies, hot cocoa and more. Stick around for the fireworks and help us ring in the new year!

Ring in the New Year at the best fireworks show in North Lake Tahoe! Celebrate with family and friends around the outdoor ice skating rink with live music, and warm fire pits all night long. Celebration culminates at 9:00pm as we ring in the east coast new year with fireworks, making it perfect for families with little ones.

Hit the Slopes or Strap on the Skis and Snowshoes

Of course with clearing skies the slopes and backcountry skiing/snowshoeing and snowmobiling will be epic. Spend the day time exploring the Lake basin or surrounding mountain communities, then come home to party it up a with a warm drink and cozy fire.

All mountain resorts are fully open to our knowledge today and expect that the crowds will return to Tahoe this weekend and the skiing, and snow sports will be in full tilt.
