BLM AND CDFW COLLABORATE ON INNOVATIVE CONSERVATION AGREEMENT TO RESTORE WILDLIFE HABITAT ON PUBLIC LANDS

The U.S. Forest Service is offering the public an opportunity to purchase used government vehicles from several national forests at the Annual Used Vehicle and Equipment Auction scheduled online for February 1 through February 8, 2016.  A total of 23 items including pickup trucks, SUV’s, crew carriers and miscellaneous ATV parts/tires will be sold to the highest bidder through an auction on the GSA website at www.gsaauctions.gov. To find this specific auction, enter the sale number 91QSCI-16-040 (don’t enter dashes) on the web page. (Note: The sale number will not be effective on the website until February 1.)
“These online vehicle auctions are improving the efficiency of our fleet management program,” said Forest Supervisor, Laurence Crabtree. “People also have an opportunity to look at the vehicles ahead of time, so they are ready to put in their bids during the auction.”
Potential bidders can inspect the vehicles in this auction at three locations from Monday, February 1 through Friday, February 5 from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM.  (No weekend viewing is available.) Seven pickup trucks can be viewed at the Eldorado National Forest location. Two of the these trucks have major problems and must be towed due to a blown engine in one, and another that won’t start. A van, two SUV’s, four crew carriers and miscellaneous ATV parts/tires are also located at the Eldorado National Forest facility at 2350 Carson Road, Placerville, California. Five vehicles including two SUV’s, two pickup trucks (one with accident damage and a bent frame) and one crew carrier can be viewed at the Tahoe National Forest facility at 12019 Charles Drive; Grass Valley, California. Three vehicles including two pickup trucks and one crew carrier can be viewed at the Inyo National Forest facility at 798 N. Main Street, Bishop, CA.
For additional internet auction vehicle viewing and information, go to the GSA website at www.gsaauctions.gov and look for instructions, registration and payment processing details. For questions about individual vehicles, contact Diana Cole at 530-621-5289.
