Annual fundraising festival supporting the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe returns for 18th year
Olympic Valley, Calif. – July 19, 2019 —This summer, The Village at Squaw Valley will host the 18th annual Brews, Jazz and Funk Fest. The family-friendly weekend is filled with the melodic sounds of jazz tunes set in the European-inspired Village at Squaw Valley. Brews, Jazz and Funk Fest will take place Saturday, Aug. 10 and Sunday, Aug. 11 from 2 to 8 p.m. and there is a $10 entry donation each day.
Brews, Jazz and Funk Fest guests over the age of 21 can enjoy over 35 craft beers from different breweries throughout the weekend. Tickets for pints of beer will be on sale for $5 each. All proceeds from Brews, Jazz and Funk Fest will benefit the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe, a longtime partner of The Village at Squaw Valley, dedicated to saving and improving the lives of pets through adoption, community spay/neuter and humane education programs. Last summer, this event raised $35,000 for the Humane Society.
“The Brews, Jazz and Funk Fest is a fun summer festival that pairs fantastic brews and great musicians together for an afternoon in the sun, all while bringing in important funds for the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe,” said Caroline Ross, executive director for the Squaw Village Neighbourhood Company. “This is one of the highlights of summer in Tahoe, in part because of the notable talent that comes from around the country to Squaw Valley to perform for locals and visitors.”
The Village at Squaw Valley welcomes various craft breweries including Truckee-based FiftyFifty Brewing and Alibi Ale Works, Auburn-based Knee Deep Brewing, Oregon-based Deschutes Brewery, Hawaii-based Kona Brewing Co. and German-based Bitburger Premium Pilsner. Additional California breweries include Bear Republic Brewing Co., Berryessa Brewing Co., Common Cider, Device Brewing Co., Drakes Brewing Co., Firestone Walker Brewing Co., Gilman Brewing Company, Heretic Brewing Co., Lagunitas Brewing Co., Pizza Port Brewing Co., Santa Maria Brewing, Seismic Brewing, Sierra Nevada Brewing Co., Trumer and WILDCIDE Hard Cider. New this year is Revision Brewing from Sparks, NV.
