Epic Water Filters was founded by Ash Heather in April 2015. Having just moved to the US from Asia and witnessing first hand plastic bottle pollution on the beaches and in the rivers that got him thinking — there had to be a solution to this environmental time bomb.

It started with developing a bottle with a robust filter in it, so people in countries with poor water quality could drink that water without getting sick, at the same time reducing the need for single-use plastic water bottles in those countries. With Flint, Michigan making international headlines in 2015 with its massive and unimaginable water pollution crisis, it became apparent that it was not just developing countries that had water quality problems.
Our goal at “>Epic has always been environmentally minded and we find value in not only practicing environmental stewardship as a company but also in supporting others who do the same. Like many who came before us and who will surely come after us, we hope to leave the planet a little bit better than we found it (and with cleaner water too).

Being creative is often associated with making art – whether that’s writing, painting, crafting, the list is endless. Creativity, however, is more aptly ascribed to a mindset. It’s for those characteristics and more that we often see the front runners of the sustainability movement as some of the most creative in their field.
We love to celebrate creativity. It can feel like a mystical experience at times. As if the lighting strikes and you are lucky enough to receive the jolt of inspiration. A lot of famous creatives, like writers in particular, have described the process as just that. And our role in it, is to remain present and open so that when creativity strikes we are there for it. We must foster those moments, ask the prompting questions, and run with an idea even if it takes us somewhere entirely different than our initial projection. Not all trains of thought must take us somewhere, but sometimes the different perspective it offers along the way is more than worth it.

Made in USA Nalgene: Company lore has it that the Nalgene Company president discovered that his son’s Boy Scout troop was using Nalgene laboratory containers for camping. Since then, the company has re-packaged and marketed the items for consumer sales through their line of Nalgene Outdoor Products. In 2018, Epic Water Filters & Nalgene began to discuss a collaboration between the Nalgene 32 oz wide mouth bottle and the Everyday Filter system from Epic Water Filters (both made in the USA). Things to never do with our “Everyday Filter”
Use Instructions: Your Nalgene OG comes with our Everyday Filter. The Everyday filter is pre-flushed and requires no flushing. The Everyday filter is designed for everyday use and targets normal tap water contaminants and should only be used with treated tap water. We make an Outdoor Adventure filter (interchangeable with the Everyday) for those times you want to get wild.

Travel Pitcher Filters
Designed to remove up to 99.99% of all tap water contaminants, the Epic Pure Water Filter Pitcher is the most sensible choice in water purification today. All filters are replaceable and tested to the highest industry standards. Our American-made pitcher/jug filters are tested and exceed NSF/ANSI Standards 42, 53, 401, & P473 for contaminant reduction (see Pure Filter Test Results for more). With each filter capable of purifying 150 gallons (568 litres) of water, the Epic Pure Pitcher is also a great economical choice saving your pocket book and the earth from single use plastic water bottles.
The Pure Pitcher includes one (1) Pure Filter that has an average life of around three to four months. Filter life varies based on your average daily use and the quality of your municipal tap water. If your tap water is relatively heavily contaminated, your filter works harder to keep your water clean, which will decrease the life of the filter. The Pure Pitcher also comes with a LED timer, which counts down from 90 days, integrated into the lid that reminds you when it is time to change the filter. Never again will you have to guess about your filter.
The bottom reservoir of the pitcher holds about half a gallon of unfiltered water, and since the filter is good for 150 gallons, you can determine how long it will last depending on how often you fill up!
