Lake Tahoe – December 17, 2020 – A cold front moved through Lake Tahoe during the early morning hours Thursday with a band of moderate snow that dropped 3-7 inches of snow on the mountains across the Tahoe basin.
Ski resorts around the Lake Tahoe basin are waking up with reports of 3-7 inches across the range with Homewood reporting the highest totals. Expected Drier conditions will follow through Christmas so skiiers will welcome this fresh base of snow for the holiday season
As for winter recreation in the Sierra, snow sledders, snow shoeing and cross country skiing should see better access to snow for the weekend. With California’s Mandatory stay at home order and the Non essential travel bans, We assume this weekend will see many day trippers from the valley with essential mental health days headed to the fresh snow.
