We’re sure you’ve seen your fair share of extreme sports and thought to yourself, “Wow, that would be cool to try out someday.” However, the intensity of the sport always seems like it’s too much for you ever to attempt. We get that, but many of them are not as hard to try out as you’d think. That’s why we’ve put together a list of some extreme sports that are easy to get into. That way, you can maybe someday get to the point of doing the crazy things you’ve seen online.

Big Wave Surfing

People who surf the big waves make it look so easy, but it really isn’t. It takes a lot of time and effort to master them. That’s why you need to start small. While the danger of big weaves isn’t too intense, smaller waves are much safer, making it easier to grasp the basics. Once you’ve nailed those, it’ll be much easier to graduate up to the bigger ones.

White Water Kayaking

Most people think of rafts when they see whitewater rapids, but it’s possible to take a kayak through those as well. Doing that is obviously much more dangerous, though. You’ll want to know the ins and outs of your kayak before attempting anything nearly this dangerous.

Starting in calmer water is the best choice. Once you move up to higher-level rapids, you’ll want to try them out in the spring since the water level will be higher at the point, keeping you further from the rocks. Just be sure you have the right kayak seat for the trip, as well as any other essentials you might need.

Heli-Skiing

Skiing is a lot of fun, but jumping from a helicopter and going down an untouched part of a mountain is way more exhilarating. Obviously, that’s no place to start for a beginner. If you still need to learn the basics of skiing, a place like Diamond Peak Ski Resort located here in the Sierra is a great place to start. You can start on the beginner route and upgrade to intermediate and advanced as you get better. Within no time, you’ll have the confidence needed to tackle something like heli-skiing.

Parkour

While it’s not quite as popular as it was in the 2000s, parkour is still going strong and has a decent following. The key thing to know about it is it’s not quite as tricky as it appears after receiving proper training. Sure, there are a good number of classes designed specifically for teaching parkour. However, if you want to get a handle on the basics first, learning gymnastics and how to fall properly are both excellent starting points, especially with that last one because you will fall down a lot while doing this.

Cave Diving

For the final extreme sport that is easy to get into, we have cave diving. The level of intensity for this one seems lower than the others, but it can still be quite dangerous if you don’t know what you’re doing. That’s why it’s good to get some general scuba experience before attempting an underwater cave. If you still feel unsure after that, try out cavern diving first, which is guided and doesn’t go very deep.
