Sail Tahoe Blue offers a sailing experience unlike any other on Lake Tahoe

Imagine, a great day frolicking on the shores and mountainsides of Lake Tahoe. The summer heat and sierra winds mix perfectly on your skin for the most refreshing afternoon mountain moment. You and your weekend crew are about to board one of the most unique and picturesque experiences in all of the West. Sailing with Sail Tahoe Blue for an evening sunset cruise across the deep blue depths of the jewel of the Sierra. A vacation moment to last a lifetime.

In 2018 when Isabella and Sean purchased their boat, Blue, and committed to building it out for charters on Lake Tahoe, these were the moments they dreamt of sharing with their guests. Lake Tahoe, already one of the most desirable vacation destinations in the West, was beaconing them up from Santa Cruz, CA to enjoy this sailing lifestyle with others. Lake Tahoe and its famous blue waters mesmerize guests when they look at it from the shorelines and slopes of the Sierra, but ask anyone who has been able to get on the water and discover the richness of the blue it hides in its secret coves and over 1600 foot depths and you discover an experience that is out of this world.

Blue is a 40’ Santa Cruz sailboat with a rich history of performance sailing. In 2020 Isabella and Sean opened up their doors to guests to experience the joys of sailing on the crystal clear waters of Lake Tahoe.  Captain Isabella is a US Coast Guard certified captain and waterwoman. Isabella grew up on the Northern coast of California and has sailing in her blood. At the helm at only two weeks old, her passion for being on the water has only grown with her experiences sailing abroad.  Captain Sean grew up in the Bay Area sailing in the San Francisco Bay and abroad, logging thousands of miles at sea. Sean has decided to share his sailing passion with all aboard sailing vessel Blue. Isabella and Sean spent two years refitting Blue to be the capable US Coast Guard certified passenger sailboat it is today.

Blue can accommodate up to 18 guests on board, with ample seating and standing room to enjoy the view with a glass in hand. Blue is beautifully equipped with a galley, dining settee, restroom, surround stereo, and 50” tall railings around the entire vessel.

The perfect vessel for a lake that provides 360 degree panoramic views and captivating adventures around every cove. “Being able to spend every day out on the water, doing what we love, and sharing our passion for sailing with others is a dream come true for us. Our captains and crew are experienced and stoked to bring you the most unique boating experience on Lake Tahoe.” says Isabella

In 2020 Covid-19 struck the world and life in the mountains became challenging. Then again in 2021 Lake Tahoe not only battled the Covid-19 realities and travel restrictions, but the Lake Tahoe south shore spent over a month in evacuations and extreme fire conditions from the Caldor fire. As a business owner during this time, life could be challenging especially for a new business. Isabella, with her past experience in digital marketing and powerful draw to Lake Tahoe, would not be held back. Business has continued to grow and bookings for daily cruises and special events like weddings, engagements, reunions, etc. have continued to stream in. The 2022 season is expected to be a year of breakout travel in the Sierra and booking a trip on The Blue might just be the moment you have been looking for.

Sail Tahoe Blue offers a sailing experience unlike any other on Lake Tahoe. Choose from a variety of public cruises and private charters, including scenic shoreline tours to Emerald Bay. Soak up the alpine sun on an afternoon cruise, or watch the alpenglow settle over Mt. Tallac for a sunset sail, with a glass in hand.

Operating out of Ski Run Marina in South Lake Tahoe, Sail Tahoe Blue sits in one of the most happening locales on the lake. After a couple of hours on the water, you can explore the town, or enjoy a meal at one of the local restaurants. The Blue is waiting and your next vacation could just be your best!

Publisher of Sierra Rec Magazine. An avid hiker and explorer of mountain lifestyle and adventure. I love to discover new trails, hike along rivers and hang a hammock along the shores of a mountain lake. I often great people on the trail and have found some of my favorite places from the advice of people I meet in the Wilderness. I love the sierra and just like sharing what I know.
