QUINCY, Calif – Volunteer campground hosts are needed for several Plumas National Forest campgrounds located at Gold Lake Campground in the Lakes Basin Recreation Area near Graeagle, California and Little Grass Valley and Sly Creek Reservoir Campgrounds near La Porte, California. The volunteer positions typically begin in May or early June (depending on the weather) and last into September or October, again, depending on the weather.
“If you’re enthusiastic about camping and like people, this may be a perfect summer activity,” said Jeremy Dorsey, resource officer for the Beckwourth Ranger District. Host duties may include welcoming visitors, sharing news and information about recreational opportunities in the area, and light campground maintenance. Hosts must provide their own self-contained RV or trailer and personal vehicle.
