The First Annual Mark Twain Days April 21-23
Carson City, NV – March 23, 2023 – In the spirit of one of Nevada’s most prolific, witty, wise (and wise-cracking) writers, Mark Twain. Carson City brings a new event to the Sierra Nevada in 2023. Mark Twain days will be a three day free festival in downtown Carson city that will celebrate the life, events and stylings of this Historic era in the cities history.
Mark Twain’s time in Nevada was fast, furious, and left a lasting impact. The region and Twain were changed forever and the dust he kicked up has never quite settled. To carry on with what Mark Twain loved most about Nevada—the characters, the excitement, and the spirit of the west—we invite you to the Mark Twain Days Festival in Downtown Carson City. Discover yourself like Samuel Clemens did when he left Missouri to find his true identity in Nevada with art, music, treasure hunts, costume contests, the Twain “Cocktail” Train, and so much more.
Most events for this festival will be free to attend, but on Friday March 24th two special tickets events with limited availability will go on sale. The “Twain Train” VIP Cocktail Rail Excursion on Friday night and the Bowtie Ball – A period costume Ball at the Governor’s Mansion on Saturday night will require a VIP ticket to the event.
