Looking for a great event to support outdoors this weekend? Head up to Lake Almanor for the 9th annual Courage Triathlon. The event is Saturday, August 26th at the Lake Almanor Country Club. This is a great event to support in the Sierra as its mission of hope is inspiring for so many. Lake Almanor is the perfect place to spend a weekend, with plenty to do around the region, including fishing, boat recreation, and proximity to Lassen Volcanic National Park and the Caribou Wilderness.
The Courage Triathlon is part of the Courage Worldwide organization which helps bring awareness and hope to the world of Sex trafficking. A Pandemic that is widespread here in America but pushed under the carpet in far too many corners of society. Since 2010, The Courage Worldwide organization has operated trauma- and survivor-informed residential safe houses: 3 minor homes and 2 over-18 homes located in Northern California and both Moshi and Dar es Salaam in Tanzania.
Plans are underway to open Courage House Northern Nevada in late 2024.
The Courage Triathlon in Lake Almanor has been an excellent success for 9 years. Participants and volunteers enjoy a little friendly competition toto raise funds for local mission projects.
