Lake Tahoe Bike Coalition invites Every one to Participate in Tahoe Bike month in June
Lake Tahoe, May 31, 2023 – The Lake Tahoe Bicycle Coalition is an all volunteer organization dedicated to promoting bicycling, bike events, and new bicycle infrastructure such as bike paths and bike lanes throughout the Tahoe region. For 18 years now they have invite the public to take a challenge and ride their bikes for a more sustainable Tahoe. This fun family friendly event/ competition is all month long in Lake Tahoe and include several community events to help celebrate the human spirit and the life changing effects of riding bikes.
The Lake Tahoe Bike Coalition along with Tahoe Regional Planning Association (TRPA invite you to gather your friends, neighbors and visitors in Lake Tahoe in the month of June and ride along. Ride to work, recreate, school or just for fun as a community around town. You can track your progress and the community in the Strava App.
Sign up with Strava to track your rides throughout Bike Month. Each ride is an entry to win prizes from local businesses in regular raffles. Prizes will also be awarded to those who top the leaderboards for most rides, miles, and elevation gain. We also celebrate everybody’s biggest ride of the month and those who encourage others to sign up. There’s a category for everyone!
Create or join a team with your friends or your workplace to compete together on the Team Leaderboards. Earn a point for your team with every mile you ride, up to 5 miles per day. Plus this year you’ll get a bonus point for each person who joins your team. Big teams are encouraged so we can get everybody riding their bikes!

- If you own or work at a business that would like to take part, there are a lot of ways to support Bike Month.

Bike Month Events
June 1st – Bike Path Cleanup
Kick off bike month by cleaning up the bike paths followed by a happy hour at The Hangar. The South Shore cleanup is Thursday, June 1st from 5 – 7:30pm
June 2nd – Bike Kitchen at the South Lake Tahoe Library
Bring your bike and stop by the South Lake Tahoe Library (1000 Rufus Allen Blvd) for a bike kitchen event! Help us fix up some donation bikes and learn how to tune and repair yours. Stop by 4-7pm.
June 3rd – Truckee Day Cleanup
Join us for the 20th annual Truckee Day Cleanup on Saturday, June 3rd from 8am – noon. Ride your bike to the cleanup to get a prize!
June 4th – America’s Most Beautiful Bike Ride
Bike the West and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society invite you to participate in the 30th annual America’s Most Beautiful Bike Ride around the Lake, one of the most scenic and awe-inspiring rides you will ever experience.
Bike & Walk to School Days
Walk or ride your bike to school to win bike safety prizes! Volunteers will be at schools on select days to pass out prizes.
- June 2nd – Incline Elementary School, Incline Middle School, Lake Tahoe School, Kings Beach Elementary School, Lake Tahoe Environmental Magnet School
- June 7th, 8th, 9th – Bijou School, Tahoe Valley Elementary School, Sierra House Elementary School, South Tahoe Middle School
June 9th – Bike Kitchen at Alibi Ale Works Truckee
Bring your bike and stop by Alibi Ale Works in Truckee for a bike kitchen event! Help us fix up some donation bikes and learn how to tune and repair yours. Mechanics will be on site 4-7pm.
June 14th – South Shore Bike to Work Day
Stop by our booth at Lakeview Commons on your way to work to grab some fuel for your ride! Look for our yellow tent 7-10 am.
June 16th – Bike Kitchen at the Hangar
Bring your bike and stop by the Hangar for a bike kitchen event! Help us fix up some donation bikes and learn how to tune and repair yours. Mechanics will be on site 4-7pm.
June 18th – Lake Tahoe Pride Bike Ride
Join Lake Tahoe Pride to celebrate Pride Month and Bike Month with a rainbow colored pride ride around South Lake Tahoe. Meet at Lakeview Commons at 10am. A post-ride social sponsored by Liberty Utilities will commence at Lakeview Commons at 12:30pm.
June 23rd – North Shore Bike to Work Day
Stop by our booth at the Tahoe City Lakeside Trail on your way to work to grab some fuel for your ride! Look for our yellow tent 7 am – 10 am.
June 23rd – Bike Kitchen at Alibi Ale Works Incline
Bring your bike and stop by Alibi Ale Works in Truckee for a bike kitchen event! Help us fix up some donation bikes and learn how to tune and repair yours. Mechanics will be on site in the beer garden from 4-7pm.
June 24th & 25th – Tahoe Mountain Bike Festival
Join the Tahoe Area Mountain Biking Association (TAMBA) at the Tahoe Paradise Park on Sunday, June 25th to celebrate mountain biking and help fund future trail projects.
