Mono County has Opened Lundy Canyon Campground for 2021
The Lundy Canyon Campground is now OPEN FOR THE SEASON!
Operating under a lease from Southern California Edison, the facilities division of the Mono County Department of Public Works is responsible for the operation and maintenance of this campground since 1961. A daily fee is still at $16.00 per campsite per day. Water in NOT available in the campground. Due to its remote location campsite fees are collected in cash only, and reservations cannot be processed. When camping, the public is urged to keep fire safety in mind and exercise caution.
The campgrounds are always closed during winter months, and generally operate from mid-April through mid-November depending upon snow conditions. Last year the campground was closed as of November 14, 2018. Early & late season travelers are advised to check eastern sierra weather forecasts prior to departure.
At an elevation of 7660 ft., this seasonal campground is set among beautiful Aspen Groves lining the banks of Mill Creek. An on-site campground host provides fee collection services for the 36 first-come, first-served camping spaces that include restrooms, trash bins, recycling bins, non-potable water spigots, picnic benches, fire-rings, and bear boxes. Every year several more bear boxes are added to this campground for your secure food storage. See the information packet link below for more on the campground fees, fee instructions, layout and vicinity map.
On occasion, some have confused this campground with the similarly named “Lundy Lake Campground” or the “Lundy Lake Resort”. For comparisons of amenities and other information on campgrounds in Mono County see the Campground Guide link below. Please note that the water source feeding this campground is spring fed, so that campers should plan on bringing their own potable water or be prepared to treat the water themselves.
