Reno Tahoe is a high desert area nestled in the Sierra Nevada mountains, meaning the temperatures in the winter months average between 25 and 45 degrees with a high chance of rain or snow. The Lake Tahoe area is at a higher elevation, so temperatures tend to be even cooler.
With more than 250 sunny days per year in the Reno Tahoe area make for the perfect snowy day out, just make sure you dress in layers when you head out for some winter activities!

The five day forecast shows snow showers will maintain in the Tahoe region all weekend. Most Snow seems to be staying north of the Lake so North star and Boreal seem to be the biggest beneficiaries of the latest storms.
