Marathoners Tackle the Lake Tahoe Basin this weekend in Three Very Unique Marathon Events
Lake Tahoe – October 13, 2023 – If you are headed to Lake Tahoe this weekend, watch out for the runners. The Tahoe Trifecta is showing its power as runners from around the West showcase their desire and skills in this beautiful and challenge weekend trio of events. This extraordinary marathon series offers three different half marathons in three days, spanning two beautiful states around Lake Tahoe. It’s an incredible opportunity to push individual limits, explore stunning landscapes, and earn fantastic rewards.

Friday: Nevada Half Marathon
the Trifecta Kickstarts the adventure with the Nevada Half Marathon, a thrilling downhill race that begins at the Spooner Summit Snow Play area, near the intersection of Hwy. 50 & Hwy. 28 in Nevada. The course winds its way to Incline Village, where you’ll be joining the Tahoe Triple Marathoners as they pass by during their Lakeside Marathon. The downhill terrain and picturesque views make this a remarkable start to your weekend running journey.
Saturday: The Carnelian Bay Half Marathon
On Saturday, runners take on the Carnelian Bay Half Marathon, a race that starts at Carnelian Bay by Waterman’s Landing in California. Runners will share the course with the Cal Neva Marathoners, who begin their race at Sand Harbor. Special finishers medals are awarded for this leg of the Trifecta. The convenience of a bus from the Hard Rock Hotel to the start line is included in your race fee, and public transportation is available for your return to Carnelian Bay from the Meadow Road finish line on TART.

Sunday: Emerald Bay Half Marathon
They will conclude this unforgettable weekend with the Emerald Bay Half Marathon, a downhill race from Emerald Bay to Lakeside Beach. You’ll run alongside hundreds of fellow participants in this friendly, all-downhill half marathon. Shuttle buses are provided to get you to the start, and you’ll finish at Lakeside Beach, just five blocks from the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.

As if conquering three remarkable races weren’t enough, participants are rewarded with three unique finishers medals, each reflecting the distinctive character of the course. Moreover, a special completion medal is awarded to those who successfully finish all three legs of the Trifecta, marking a significant accomplishment.
Throughout the races, they have access to 3-4 aid stations along the courses, ensuring you stay hydrated and energized. For the Sunday Emerald Bay Half Marathon, there are five-year age division awards to recognize outstanding performances in various age groups.
There are also overall awards for the first-place finishers and first masters (40+) in all three races, adding an extra layer of competition for those seeking to test their limits.
