[Olympic Valley, Calif.] June 5, 2019 – While skiers and snowboarders can still get their turns in every Friday through Sunday through June 30, and July 3-7, Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows is preparing for a sizzling summer with a variety of new activities and events for visitors of all ages.

Alpenglow Expeditions’ New Tahoe Via Ferrata & Grand Opening Party
Opened last fall, Alpenglow Expeditions’ Tahoe Via Ferrata will mark it’s first full season of adventure starting June 15. Located on the iconic Tram Face at Squaw Valley, the Tahoe Via Ferrata towers above The Village at Squaw Valley. A Via Ferrata, which means “Iron Road” in Italian, is a protected hiking and climbing experience. Regular operations for the Tahoe Via Ferrata begin on June 15 and will be open to ages 10+. Visitors have the option to purchase group or private tours that each last 2.5, 4, or 7 hours. Participants will take routes that include cable bridges, metal rungs to aid in climbing, and more traditional rock scrambling sections. Every participant will be guided by professionally-trained mountain guides and will be secured to the rock using permanent steel anchors and cables. A harness, helmet and safety lanyard will be provided by Alpenglow Expeditions. Reservations can be made here.
