The upswing in newly opened businesses entices travelers to revisit June Lake Loop

JUNE LAKE, Calif. – June Lake might seem different to those who haven’t visited in a couple of years, as the once-sleepy Eastern Sierra mountain town has recently experienced an economic boom. Locals continue to embrace the entrepreneurial spirit, resulting in a significant increase of new businesses opening their doors in the June Lake Loop.

Situated at 7,654 feet, surrounded by snow-covered peaks and glistening lakes, with wildflowers blooming in spring and a symphony of color in fall, June Lake is a magical place. In addition to historic landmarks and endless outdoor adventures, the town now also welcomes visitors to check out a slew of new shops and restaurants to round-out their itinerary. A new coffeeshop, juice bar, music venue, cannabis boutique and even more restaurants and gathering places await travelers in June Lake.

“There’s no place quite like June Lake, which is why I think myself and so many others see the huge opportunity of starting a new business here,” said Jamie Schectman, owner of T-Bar Social Club, June Pie Pizza Co. & Balanced Rock Saloon.

New Offerings in The Loop

June Lake Brewing Co. was inspired by the surrounding landscape and pairs excellent adventures with excellent beers. The craft connoisseurs brew their suds at altitude and offer over 10 variations on tap for guests to sip from the brewery’s spacious tasting room as they enjoy delicious Hawaiian soul food from Ohanas 395 food truck just outside the brewery.

The Lift June Lake is one of the newest eateries in June Lake launched by locals offering healthy and unique food and drink options either from the menu or to grab-and-go. In the morning visitors can fuel-up with gourmet coffee, breakfast sandwiches and pastries. In the evening The Lift serves house-made tapas shared plates, beer and wine.

The historic Sierra Inn building has been renovated to accommodate three businesses under one roof. T-Bar Social Club is June Lake’s newest gathering place, serving beverages and great food set to year-round live entertainment. June Pie Pizza Co. delights guests with thin crust, New York style pizza that’s wood-fired by what many consider the “Cadillac of pizza ovens” and is available by the slice or whole pie or for delivery. Rounding-out the business trifecta is Balanced Rock Saloon, which is currently under renovation constructing a large-capacity live music and event space with top-of-the-line sound and lighting systems.

Hermitage Organic Café & Juicery organic café and sustainable juicery offers healthful meal and snack options to locals and visiting adventurers like cold-pressed organic juices, organic smoothies, homemade bread, salads and raw treats.

High Sierra Cannabis recreational cannabis boutique sells natural, locally-grown organic pre-rolled, flower, vape, topical and edible cannabis products. High Sierra also features three hybrid flower strains exclusive to their shop including June Bloom, Bodie Ghost and Gnome Zone.

Gordo’s Mexican Restaurant brings authentic south-of-the-border flavors right to Main St., offering their signature gordita bowl as well as tacos, burritos, enchiladas, tamales, mole, daily specials and more. House-made chips and salsa are complimentary, and their specialty agave wine margarita comes highly recommended.

Gallery 158 is the first and only photo gallery in the June Lake Loop, featuring original images captured by Tom Okeefe over 18 years, which highlight the stunning Mono County landscape and a range of subjects situated outdoors.

Insane Audio brings outdoor motorsport enthusiasts top-of-the-line parts
builds in-dash multimedia and navigation systems for aftermarket off-road vehicles. Surrounding trails are begging to be explored and motorsport enthusiasts can upgrade their vehicles with everything from head units, dash kits and harnesses, to accessories and apparel.

June Mountain Official Logoware retail has officially opened for business in the Rainbow Ridge building. The store has all of the baseball hats, stickers, glassware, t-shirts, sweatshirts and branded gifts you’ll need to take a piece of June Mountain home from your visit as a souvenir.
