If you’re planning a summer weekend in Apple Hill or exploring California’s Sierra Foothills, Starfield Vineyards is once again offering an evening of live music, estate wines, vineyard views, and outdoor dining during its popular Summer Concert Series.
While Apple Hill is best known for its bustling fall harvest season, summer offers a completely different experience. With fewer crowds, warm evenings, scenic vineyard views, and outdoor entertainment, it’s an ideal time to discover another side of one of Northern California’s favorite destinations.
Starfield Vineyards’ outdoor amphitheater hosts five concerts throughout the summer, creating a relaxed atmosphere where guests can enjoy live music under the open sky while sampling wines produced from the estate’s sustainably farmed vineyards.

Guests are encouraged to bring blankets or low-back lawn chairs. Outside food and picnic items are welcome, while outside alcohol is not permitted.
Please note that all concerts are strictly for guests 21 years of age and older, and a valid photo ID is required for entry.
New This Summer: Pizza alla Pala
One of the newest additions at Starfield Vineyards is its Pizza alla Pala program, created under the direction of Chef Scott Tomblin.
Inspired by traditional Roman-style pizza, the dough is made using organically grown California and Italian flours before being slow-fermented for 48 hours to develop flavor and texture. The long rectangular pizzas are baked fresh, sliced to order, and served on wooden boards.
Pizza is available daily from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and concert guests can also order directly from the amphitheater bar for delivery to their seats.
More Than Just a Winery
Founded in 2012 by father-and-son team Tom and Rob Sinton, Starfield Vineyards sits on 31 acres in the El Dorado AVA east of Placerville. Beyond its tasting room, visitors will find more than three miles of paved walking paths winding through gardens, ponds, forests, and beautifully landscaped grounds that offer panoramic views of the Sierra Foothills.
The winery is located at 2750 Jacquier Road in Placerville (95667) and is open seven days a week from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. More at 530/748-3085 and https://www.starfieldvineyards.com/
The winery’s signature Rose Arbor, blooming with hundreds of climbing roses, has become one of the property’s most photographed locations.
Whether you’re planning a romantic evening, a weekend getaway, or simply looking for live music in the Sierra Foothills, Starfield Vineyards offers a memorable way to spend a summer evening in Apple Hill.
