The Historic Virginia and Truckee Trail’s 1st Annual River to River Bicycle Ride is September 16 at 8:00 a.m.
Reno Nevada – September 9, 2023 – We love it when a dream and a plan meets hard work to become reality! Well get the bike out and get ready for a annual tradition that might just become one of the regions most celebrated new additions for years to come in the biking community.
The Historic Virginia and Truckee Trails program has finished signing and planninig the first phase of thei new historic long trail that follows the history of the Virginia Truckee Railroad. To kick off this event they will celebrate with the first Annual River to River Bicycle Ride is September 16.
This unsupported fun ride on 43 miles of paved multi-use paths, bike lanes and shared roads is being held to celebrate what we have accomplished to date and what we hope to accomplish in the future in completing this important Rail Trail that will echo the Virginia and Truckee Railroad
covering five Northern Nevada Counties.
Riders have the option to start from either in front of the Stewart Indian School on Snyder Ave in Carson City or from City Plaza in Reno. To complete the entire ride would be 86 miles but riders can do as much as they wish and then turn around and go back. Maps will be passed out at each end the morning of the ride.

Stewart Indian School (no restrooms or water)
Snyder, turn left onto Clearcreek, to Frontage Rd, cross 395 to Westside Multi-Use Path on the
west side and go north to Clearview cross to Multi-Use Path on the east side and continue north
to the roundabout at Stewart. Continue north on Carson St to Washington St, turn right.
Continue to Ormsby turn right, continue around to Longview and turn right onto the Multi-Use
Path which ends at Murphy & VanPatten Ave. continue on Murphy to Coombs Canyon turn left
and the right at Timberline on Coombs Canyon up the hill. Follow Coombs Canyon Rd to
Numaga Pass Rd, turn left to Hobart Rd. Water available at Fuji Park on Clearcreek Rd. in
Carson City.
