Spring has a way of waking up the foothills, and in Calaveras County, there’s no better way to welcome the season than with a little Zydeco music, a lot of crawfish, and the joyful hum of community. This April 26th, Main Street in San Andreas transforms into a lively slice of Louisiana at the Calaveras Ragin’ Cajun Festival, hosted by the San Andreas Rotary Club.
From 11 AM to 5 PM, this family-friendly event promises the kind of fun that’s hard to find anywhere else in the Sierra. At its heart? An authentic Louisiana Crawfish Boil — the real deal, steeped in spices and southern soul. Whether you’re a die-hard Cajun food lover or just curious to try something new, this is your chance to indulge.
But the food is just the beginning.

Three stages will keep the energy flowing all day long:
🎵 On the Cajun Stage, expect lively performances from Blues Box Bayou and Les Amis Zydeco — perfect for dancing in the street or swaying with a cold drink in hand.
🎤 The Motherlode Stage features a diverse lineup, including singer-songwriter Debra Olguin, R&B grooves from DDQ & Friends, and the Latin-infused rhythms of William Russell & Compadre’s. Skull Country brings an Americana dance vibe to close out the day.
🎸 And don’t miss Rusty Rockers on the Met Stage, offering classic tunes with a nostalgic kick.
🎷 You’ll even catch saxophonist Lee Godfrey adding soulful notes as a roving street performer throughout the festival.
Tickets are just $5 in advance or $10 at the gate, making this one of the best value events of the season. (Heads up: food and drinks are sold separately — but absolutely worth it.)
And here’s something that makes the celebration even more meaningful: proceeds benefit Hospice of Amador and Calaveras, as well as other local charities. That means your good time directly supports your Sierra neighbors — and that’s a tradition worth celebrating.
