Tahoe City, CA – Tahoe City just added an exciting new feature to its historic golf landscape, with the grand opening of the Queenie Dunn Practice Facility at the Tahoe City Golf Course. On October 3, 2024, community members and Tahoe City Public Utility District (TCPUD) staff gathered for the ribbon-cutting ceremony, marking the completion of this revitalized short-game practice area. Named after May “Queenie” Dunn, a trailblazing figure in the world of golf, this new facility is a tribute to her pioneering spirit. Dunn was one of the first female golf course designers and professionals in the United States. In 1918, she designed and supervised the layout of the Tahoe Tavern Golf Course, which eventually became the Tahoe City Golf Course, and she served as its resident golf pro and manager. The Queenie Dunn Practice Facility honors her legacy by providing a space where golfers of all levels can refine their skills.

The practice facility features a new putting green, a sand bunker, and turf areas designed to help players enhance their short game.
