66th Annual International Camel & Ostrich Races – Virginia City, NV

Virginia City’s most off-the-wall tradition gallops back into town for its 66th year! Join the fun Friday, Sept. 5 through Sunday, Sept. 7, 2025, as professional and amateur jockeys compete in the International Camel & Ostrich Races—an outrageous, family-friendly event where camels, ostriches, zebras, and even emus take center stage.

Schedule of Events:

• Friday, Sept. 5 at 5 p.m. – Hot Camel Nights (Locals Discount Show)

• Saturday, Sept. 6 at 10 a.m. & 2 p.m. – Two full race shows

• Saturday, Sept. 6 at 12:30 p.m. – Camel Hump on C Street parade

• Sunday, Sept. 7 at 12 p.m. – Family Day with free camel rides for the first 100 kids

What to Expect:

• Wild, unpredictable animal races

• Carnival-style food vendors & beverages

• Local artists and craft booths

• VIP, shaded, and bleacher seating options

• Free parking, shuttle service, and golf cart rides for guests with limited mobility

Ticket Info:
Multiple seating options available. Children age 2 and under are free (must sit on an adult’s lap). Tickets tend to sell out—purchase early online here.
