Glacier Point Road will open to all traffic on Friday, April 30 at 8 am. The full road is currently open to cyclists.
Cyclists should watch for heavy equipment traveling to the closed portion of the road for plowing, road repairs, tree work, etc.
The Glacier Point Road normally opens to vehicles sometime in May.
Glacier Point Road will be closed to all traffic in 2022 to rehabilitate and improve the road. The only access to Glacier Point will be via the Four Mile, Panorama, and Pohono Trails, all of which are strenuous hikes.

Day Use reservations
The COVID-19 pandemic will continue to affect park operations in 2021. Visitation to the park will be managed in accordance with recommendations from public health officials, and in line with the California Blueprint for a Safer Economy’s Color-Tiered System. The purpose of following the tiered system is to be responsive to changing conditions, protect public and employee health, and sustain park operations.
A reservation will be required to drive into Yosemite May 21 through September 30, 2021. You must display your permit on your dashboard at all times while inside the park. A reservation is not required to visit Yosemite prior to May 21.
Tioga Road
Plows have reached Tioga Pass. Plowing of side roads, turnouts, parking lots, etc., are in progress. Additional work, including road repairs, removal of trees that may fall onto the road, utility system repair, etc., must all occur prior to road opening. There is no estimated opening date for Tioga Road.
If the road opens to bicycles before it opens to cars, an update will appear here.
The road normally reopens in late May or June.
