Gold Lake 4×4 Camp Update:

Reservations are now required for Gold Lake 4×4 Camp, bookable three to 30 days in advance on Recreation.gov or by calling 877-444-6777. There are service charges associated with both online and phone reservations. Additionally, responsible waste disposal is crucial at this location. Campers must bring and utilize approved systems like waste kits or WAG bags. These can be found at most outdoor stores and online retailers.

Royal Elk Park Management Continues Maintenance Efforts:

The forest’s concessionaire, Royal Elk Park Management, is actively working on repairs and maintenance throughout the area, including damaged boat docks.

Enjoying the Outdoors Responsibly:

While there are currently no fire restrictions, visitors are urged to be cautious with anything that could spark a wildfire. Here are some fire safety tips:

  • Never leave campfires unattended. Extinguish them completely until they are cold to the touch.
  • Secure trailer chains to prevent them from dragging on pavement. Ensure proper tire inflation.
  • Verify that spark arrestors are functioning correctly on motorized equipment like off-highway vehicles, generators, and chainsaws.
