Olympic Valley, Calif. – Late summer in Tahoe always carries a special kind of energy—sunny afternoons, cool evenings, and a community ready to celebrate together. At The Village at Palisades Tahoe, that energy comes alive with two signature festivals that blend good taste, great music, and even greater causes.

36th Annual Alpen Wine Fest – Sunday, August 31

Wine lovers will gather for the 36th Annual Alpen Wine Fest, a tradition that has become one of the region’s most anticipated summer finales. In partnership with Uncorked, more than 20 distinguished wineries will pour tastings all afternoon while the Nick Eng Duo and Full Blast Trio feat. Cliff Porter set the soundtrack.

A commemorative Alpen Wine Fest glass, unlimited tastings, and access to live music are included with a donation ticket. While the event is open to all ages, you must be 21+ with ID to enjoy the pours. Most importantly, every sip supports Can Do MS, a non-profit dedicated to empowering families living with multiple sclerosis.

Guitar Strings vs. Chicken Wings – Friday, September 5

Just a few days later, the Village will swap wine glasses for wing baskets as six restaurants and six local bands face off in the ultimate showdown. Guests get to decide who takes home the Best Wings Trophy and the $500 prize for Best Band.

This community favorite is more than food and fun—it fuels local conservation. Proceeds benefit the Tahoe Institute for Natural Science (TINS), whose programs reach thousands of students each year. Last year’s competition raised nearly $40,000 for TINS, and this year’s crowd promises to top it.

Celebrate, Taste, Give Back

Whether your palate leans toward fine wines or spicy wings, these two events are reminders that Tahoe celebrations are about more than entertainment—they’re about giving back. So mark your calendars, bring your friends, and raise a glass (or a drumstick) to summer’s grand finale at The Village at Palisades Tahoe.

Upcoming Fall events at The Village:

  • Adventure Van Expo: Sept. 20 & 21
  • Oktoberfest: Sept. 27
  • Made in Tahoe Festival: Oct. 11 & 12
